Cheating in exams has always been present in free India. Answers were whispered by the bright students for not so bright friends.
Paper leaks have supplementd individual Cheating and converted it into a mass movement. It might cause anguish to the purists but so long as there's a big market for it.........?

Surjeet...such memories never fade.
Have you noticed that cheating is more prevalent in North than South !
May be it has lot to do that having left a warm home surroundings ;you had to compete to become someone. Ethics were lost enroute.

We have to improve our moral values as a Nation. We have very poor leadership to follow.

Hello,
The social unrest has always been there in some form.In fact global happening. Youth in colleges, universities are just the right stage and mass to ignite any simmering issue especially of socio-politico-economic nature. In today's tech driven world when major work load is borne by machines, the much of the young population has much free time to indulge in agitations to vent out their 'Akrosh'. Once a while things may go the otherway. However, system/govt must assure its citizens that there is fairness/credibility in all its working. It also demands an ethical and moralistic behaviour from its citizens. jai hind

Brig Surinder Singh was not just a decorated officer or an IIT alumnus. To me, he was my Chacha — my father’s youngest brother, and someone very deeply loved in our family.

My father was extremely fond of him. Their bond was special. In later years, my father would sometimes call me “Surinder” instead of Gulzar. I always understood that it was his way of remembering and holding on to someone he loved dearly.

Chacha was very intelligent, very bright, and yet remarkably soft-spoken. He never carried his achievements loudly. His presence was calm. He spoke little, but when he did, there was clarity and warmth in his words.

Above all, he was a very good human being. Gentle in nature. Dignified in conduct. Simple in his needs. There was nothing excessive about him - only grace.

He truly gave more to life and took less.

He will always remain in our memories with deep respect and affection.

I have known Surinder as a valued colleague.. I admired his humility despite being a cut above most of us, It was indeed a shock to all of us when we learnt of his untimely demise. Perhaps God has special assignment for Surinder in the hereafter before providing him Sadgati

Highly grateful to you for this wonderful note.
My dear Brig (r) lives in my heart forever. I am fortunate to have known him well in our young growing years in the Hauz Khas campus of Delhi IIT, & in the Shivalik Hostel where we met often. His simple ways of being jovial & great thoughts are in my memory.
It was so nice of Surinder Singh to tell me a bit about the family right after our Delhi IIT batch Golden Jubilee celebrations in Taj Faridabad. I immediately left for Chandigarh to meet your family at your home. Felt overjoyed knowing about your wise elders & others well devoted to Sikhism & its philosophy. Great to recall : "सरबत का भला" in words & deeds.
Learnt a lot about my own elders from General Surjit Singh ji , we were neighbors since generations, living & prospering well in the village Farooka of District Sargodha , located near a large Air Force station.
Partition of Bharat in 1947, separated our families, but really lucky for me to have joined our hearts, millions of Thanks to dear Surinder Singh, who introduced me to his great elder General Surjit Singh ji & family in Chandigarh and later on to his own lovely family in Mohali.
May His great Soul be in Eternal Peace with the grace of the Almighty.
Best Warm sincere regards to each of your families in Chandigarh & Mohali.

Surinder was one of our best officer in the Corps. He was a professional to the core and brilliant in planning and utilising his resources. Very unassuming, he was a thorough gentleman and a great colleague.
May Wahe Guru grant him eternal peace and give strength to his family to bear this irreparable loss
