Dear Sir,
Thanks for your mail.
Indeed it was great pleasure meeting you and Mrs Surjit, last night. We are grateful to Brig Bajaj for introducing us to the hitherto fore hidden treasure in Chandigarh and that too so close by.
Thanks a lot for sharing the link to your blog. I have read your Tribute to Gen Hanut... line by line and word by word. I must acknowledge that you have very unique and nice style of writing... very elaborately and yet to the point. Since you had narrated quite a bit of it last night, reading it was appearing as if I was listening to you once again....the narration was also mesmerizing.
I have also read your tribute to Jhaaiji... the great and pious soul as I learn from your piece of writing. And I can imagine how well the four children have been brought up with achhi tarbiyat. May God Bless the noble soul.....

Would love to read anything and everything about Sikkim... I really cherish it. That was my first posting (my first love) and stayed there for almost three and a half years.

Taking a short-cut, I had given you my card which had the official mail Id. My personal mail ID is pnmonga@rediffmail.com (cc in this mail ).
Would love to be in touch and hear from you, sir.
May I request for your contact numbers too please.

I have attached with this mail, two photographs of last night. will share more through WhatsApp. Have shared all, with Brig Bajaj sir.

Best wishes and regards,

Dear sir,
Everytime Gen Hanut's name comes up, our hearts swell with pride and we don't leave any opportunity to tell those next to us what a great man he was, a second to whom the world is yet to see. But sir, what's astoundingly surprising to us civilians is that today when his samadhi has been sealed illegally with ulterior motives of using the land for commercial purposes, motives harboured by those who orchestrated this whole charade, his very regiment is quiet and is letting this whole thing pass like nothing happened. As if Gen Hanut's wishes don't command any respect from the very fraternity that he dedicated his entire life. How will our sons and daughters be inspired to serve the country? With what right will we ask them to sacrifice their everything in the name of the nation and for the love for their brotherhood when this is how the nation and the brotherhood of Indian Army treats their war heroes

Words and thoughts fall short for Man, who I knew as great Saint soldier. I met him once in his meditation ashram in Bala (near Jodhpur) and had brief discussion on spiritual details ... The Army side of him was unknown until I started reading more and more, mostly the account of officers.

I feel privilged to read well naratted account of his, real inspiration for young minds and no wonders very well documented.

Dear Surjit,

I have always found your blogs/emails interesting and full of information. Last December I was invited to talk to the IDBI Capital on "Leadership". I quoted from your mail on late revered Gen. Hanut Singh.

Coming to your this mail, "On the Other Side of Radcliffe Line". You would be aware that in all Abrahamic religions ie, Judaism, Christianity and Islam, the belief is that on the day of judgment that religon with largest number of adherents will be given entry into Paradise. Correct me if I am wrong. No wonder this simple soul is making his 'small' contribution to the effort.

A rather belated but nevertheless a sincere Happy New year.

Sir,

Thank you for writing an outstanding piece on Gen Hanut Singh jee. Though I was not fortunate enough to meet him, but your writing has brought him to life for me.
To the extent that I feel as if I had known him personally.

A great tribute to a Great man!

Warm regards

Message received from Prabir Goswami by P Mullick on Apr 15, 2015

The General was a colossus who stood way higher than his peers.
His contributions are numerous and bespeak of a sincere, motivated and professional soldier.

I have had a few rather close interactions with him, particularly when he was a Gen.

They do bear recounting, if only to place them on record. But, I may do so another day.

Today, I pray to God that his noble soul Rests in Peace.

Thanks for sharing this.
