I don’t agree with U he was qualified but how many hrs he got as flying officers ?? You sending him on a bombing run in enemy territory? It was not a training exercise frankly they didn’t made it to sargodha from my town to sargodha is about 15 minutes jet time and both jaggi and bhagwat were low and as they saw sabers they pulled up with loaded with ammo they stand no chance for a dog fight. One more thing they didn’t discharge any weapon to have a dog fight and shot down like sitting ducks its mystery by our side what both were thinking? They got intercept but didn’t discharge any ammo so they can have a fight shows both Bhagwat and barar were inexperienced.piticing flying officer in gladiator Pitt is not fair with him
I recommend read blog Aeronaut by Qasir tufail his article,, speed shooting classic by Alam. He is retired Air Comodore.

Kiran how are You? Ur uncle plane crashed on our lands and my father was first man on the crash site Brar crashed next village. Sadly ur uncle failed to bailout too he tried but place was very low so he lost his life beacuse his plane shot once by saber a smoke came out from his tail but then smoke stoped but mean time he came to low second shot by saber his plane caught fire and burning jet crashed our lands
Plz accept my condolences from my family and I can feel ur family pain but war is all about tragedies May rest Ur uncle peace and a closure to Ur family especially Ur dad.
I traced many yrs back but IAF site won’t give any info so I read today Ur comment and replying you again he is Ur Hero and fought for Ur country I respect him RIP

I read about jaggi today on ur site its painful for family and friends of him.
Jaggi s plane crashed next to our village while his leader Bhagwat crashed on our lands. My condolences to his family sadly he failed to bail out and lost his life his body was intact and buried on same place where his plane crashed. I hope it will give his bothers and sister a closure he died for his country and as Pakistani I admired him as we admired our heroes
If any one here has his bothers link plz convay my massage to him my father is witness of this Dog fight and first one who reached crash site both Bhatwat and Brar lost theior lives that day RIP

Growing up, we had so much respect for Jaggi Brar whose photograph was kept in our drawing room… because the other pilot who was KIA was my uncle Sqn Ldr Suresh Bhagwat

Surjit ji,
You have given a fitting memorial to your brother. Jaggi deserved it, and you have done full justice to the job you undertook.
The photographs are very appropriately chosen. They tell a lot. In our family album we have similar pictures, and we are able to relate to what we see in the post.
We think that it is your duty to record your memories for all other members of your family (and that includes us!) and leave them as your legacy. I am sure you will measure up to this task as well as you have done for Jaggi.

Jaggu Brar or little Ben was in our 7sqn at Halwara.He was a couple of courses senior to me..Jaggu used to pick me up on his scooter for work and back.We fought the 1965 OPs together.The youngsters of our Sqn were–V V Nair, Adi Gandhi,Shashi Tyagi, Dundass, Chakladar…

We all participated in 1965 ops..Dundass passed away in1971 ops.Rest our still surviving.

Do convey to Jaggu family that we still remember him.A good guy and a good fighter pilot.

May his soul RIP

Jagdev must have been as spirited as the Surjit I know. He went down like a valiant soldier and his sacrifice has not been in vain! One waits for the day when a war memorial comes up and is adorned by names of martyrs such as of Jagdev. May their clan grow!
